In standup comedy, to be conservative is to be an iconoclast, and nobody is more gleefully iconoclastic than Nick DiPaolo. The East Coast native is known for forceful and fearless delivery of his decidedly politically incorrect opinions and social critiques. His wit may be razor sharp, but it packs the blunt-force power of a sledgehammer. He's a regular fill-in host on Dennis Miller's radio show and makes recurring appearances on Fox News; he was also nominated for a pair of Emmy Awards for his writing on The Chris Rock Show, has appeared on several Comedy Central roasts, and frequently collaborates with his decidedly liberal pal Louis C.K. (DiPaolo's most memorable and poignant episode in the first season of the FX series Louie featured him getting into a fist fight with C.K. after a political argument.) DiPaolo's latest hour-long standup special, Raw Nerve, will debut on Showtime the night after his Twin Cities appearance, but if you wait until then to check him out you'll be kicking yourself for missing him live.
