New Year's Eve Casino and Lounge Show
Best known for drawing in the starved masses for breakfast, tonight Hell's Kitchen is channeling Las Vegas and transforming its underground space into a New Year's Eve casino and lounge. Good to its name, the restaurant will become a den of temptation, with plenty of opportunities to throw together some resolutions for the pending year and to quickly break the ones that have just gone into effect. Entry gets you access to gambling tables, cash bar discounts, hors d'oeuvres, and unlimited champagne (we repeat: unlimited champagne). Vic Volare and his eight-piece orchestra will perform a swinging lounge show, a welcome anachronism that's a bit like celebrating the New Year half a century ago. Another perk: Booking a room at the Hotel Ivy or Hyatt Regency for the night—probably a wise idea—will knock $10 off your room fee. Both are within blocks of Hell's Kitchen, meaning it's a quick walk to a warm bed and an equally quick walk back for breakfast in the morning.
