MSRA's Back To the '50s Weekend
You know it's summertime when the cool cars hit the street. This weekend, the Minnesota State Fairgrounds will welcome more than 11,000 hot rods and restored, classic, and custom vehicles dating from 1964 and earlier. Auto enthusiasts will be able to walk among drool-worthy cars with sparkly paint jobs and impressive action under the hood. They'll also be able to browse vendors' wares, attend Sunday's enormous swap meet, and take in related exhibits on display. Or, if you need a break from the fumes, take in some live music, stop at the arts and crafts fair, or bring children to the kids' zone. Attendees may want to travel by bus or bike if possible, as Snelling Avenue tends to get a little busy during the peak hours of the festival (but never has traffic looked so pretty!). Visit www.msra.com for more info. (1940 Ford Pickup photographed by John Markovich)
