MNFashion Week: Lollycopter Loves EveryBODY
As part of MNFashion Week, feminist sex-toy boutique Smitten Kitten will host a runway show-cum-cabaret: Lollycopter loves EveryBODY. Here, Lollycopter designer Joan Vorderbruggen will manifest her belief that, without exception, all body types deserve celebration. Her catwalk will demonstrate this philosophy by featuring strutters of all ages, including traditional, plus-sized, and queer-identified models. The coquettish Lollycopter line is fashioned from vintage frocks, re-purposed trims and embellishments, and low-impact dyes. And the "flipped" vintage garments are readily available, even in notoriously hard-to-find large and plus sizes. The three-hour floor show will feature drag artist Ms. Sasha Rodgers, freak-folk musicians Neva Rosina, and Gretchen Seichrist of Patches and Gretchen, with Magic Marc as ringleader and DJ Sara Jean. The vivacious Vorderbruggen has been a steady presence in Smitten Kitten's creative community, both as window designer and art curator, as well as Lollycopter's designer. Enjoy the female-positive atmosphere and frolic amid the nymphs.
