Field Day and Local Artists Mart

Last year's popular Field Day returns this summer with a packed itinerary of sports, lawn games, art activities, and performances. Attendees can participate in a drawing club, play croquet or badminton, or participate in a kickball tournament. If you go, be sure to try out game artist Ben Garthus's Capture Flash/Camera Tag in the Sculpture Garden and the Flat Pak House from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. You can also lend your voice to DJ mal's hip-hop mixing at the Open Lounge from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Be sure to check out the various wares for sale from local jewelers, bookmakers, t-shirt designers, and printmakers at the Local Art Mart from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. inside at the Cargill Lounge. Stick around for the evening programming, including performances by the Rockstar Storytellers at 6 p.m. and a campfire sing-along led by local musicians Holley Munoz, the Roe Family Singers, and Velvet Davenport from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. For a complete rundown on happenings, visit (Photo by Gene Pittman)
