Minnesota Vikings vs. Kansas City Chiefs

It's been quite the offseason for the Vikings, with the Brett Favre debacle drawing daily national media coverage as the entire state waited with bated breath to hear if the attention-hungry quarterback would grace the Metrodome with his presence. The torture finally ended a few weeks ago when he decided not to don the purple, returning the focus to where it belonged: on the team as a whole. (Editor's note: Brett Favre is indeed donning the purple. This A-List went to print before the announcement.) And even with the quarterback position up in the air for the moment, it would be hard to deny that the Vikings are looking better than they have in years. With an offense led by super-stud running back Adrian Peterson, and wide receiver draft pick Percy Harvin showing plenty of promise, the Dome will surely be home to plenty of scoring fireworks in the coming months. On the other side of the ball, the Vikings are looking quite intimidating. Last year's NFL-leading run defense returns, anchored by the sack-happy defensive end Jared Allen. The Purple's first home preseason game pits them against the laughably weak Kansas City Chiefs, who ended last season with a franchise worst 2-14 record. Maybe it would be better to classify this exercise as a practice rather than a preseason game.
