Minneapolis-St. Paul Fashion Week: Vintage Did It First
It's no coincidence that fashionistas sometimes get a sense of deja vu when checking out the latest looks on the runway. The ever-evolving world of fashion is constantly re-imagining, rediscovering, and re-appropriating looks from past eras. This phenomenon will be celebrated Saturday at Blacklist Vintage's Vintage Did It First. There's a delightful twist to this party, however, as the vintage/thrift shop will be presenting fashion-forward styles instead of retro looks. During the runway show, models will rock the trends that scored high during New York's Fashion Week, including styles from Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Ralph Lauren. Yet all of the items worn during the party are vintage and from the shop, proving that there's a happy middle ground between maxing out a credit card at high-end boutiques and raiding your older relatives' closets. Drinks will be provided by Icehouse, and folks shopping during the event will receive a 20 percent discount. Come early as space is limited.
Sat., Sept. 22, 8-11 p.m., 2012
