Comedian Mike Lukas is looking forward to making the trip from his hometown of Cleveland to Minneapolis for his December appearances at the Acme Comedy Co. "I've actually decided to leave my nipples in Cleveland, per their request," he explains. "I'm hoping they'll be nice and warm when I get back, not unlike the old days when outhouse toilet seats would be kept inside away from the cold." Lukas is about to release a new CD, Mike Lukas: Me, Myself, and I. "I'm very excited about it because I've managed to minimize the number of F-words contained within to less than 100," he says. "It's over an hour long, and my mother gave it the thumbs up." Speaking of family, Lukas and his wife have just welcomed a son. They moved back to Cleveland four years ago when their daughter was born. "I am spending much of my rare 'at home time' getting up early to help with the breastfeeding," he explains. "Someone has to be the co-pilot." Always interested in sketch, Lukas continues to channel that sensibility through his standup."My whole act is like a series of sketches, only I play all the parts," he says. "I still improvise during my standup, which makes every show a little different. I don't currently work with any troupes, except my children and wife. We often dress up, wear wigs, and do sketches at home. The one-year-old doesn't understand the subtleties of 'give and take,' but he does a wonderful job of shaking the shit out of stuff." 18+.
