We’re only a few days away from the official start of summer. That means it’s time for a Midsommar celebration, an ancient tradition honoring the changing of the season. This Saturday, the American Swedish Institute will host a family-friendly party with fun scheduled all day. That includes live music, folk dance, and storytelling from groups such as Impossible Salt, Open Eye Figure Theatre, and Ole Olsson’s Oldtime Orkestra. Make a flower wreath and wear it as an homage to health and happiness, and try other hands-on art activities. FIKA will be serving up strawberry cake and Swedish hot dogs, plus wine, beer, and sangria will flow as Minnesotans enjoy the (hopefully) sunny weather in museum’s garden.
