Memory Lanes Block Party
As the weather warms up and the rain stops pouring, so begins the free street-festival season. Memory Lanes puts forth an admirable effort with this full two-day celebration of local music. The genres vary greatly from set to set, and include hip-hop artists No Bird Sing, scream-rockers Gay Witch Abortion, funk-rockers Chooglin', and surf-rockers Red Pens on Saturday, and R&B from Black Blondie, folk with Lucy Michelle & the Velvet Lapels, and the indie rock of Halloween, Alaska on Sunday. Each day will also include DJ sets and host Ian Rans (from Drinking with Ian). During the party guests will enjoy food, beer, and whiskey. They will also be able to test their skills at one-handed game booths and the celebrity dunk tank. Each night around 9:45 p.m. the party moves indoors and becomes 21+. (Image by Ginnerobot)
Saturdays, Sundays, 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Starts: May 29. Continues through May 30, 2010
