"Somebody told me when I started doing standup, that there are two types of guys who are successful on the road," explains comedian Matt Sadler. “The first is the guy that can find something to do no matter where he is, like golf. The second is the guy that can do absolutely nothing and be happy. I fall into the latter category. Give me cable and an internet connection, and I can be entertained for 18 hours." It’s turned out to be the perfect vocation for the former film school student, who realized early on in his college career that directing films might not be his calling. "The graduate students would ask me to be in their films because they thought I was funny," Sadler says. "On the set, I noticed the director was the guy screaming at people, crying, and losing his mind." Comedy seemed like a much brighter alternative. "I’m just lazy," he confesses. "That’s what appealed to me about standup. I only have to work an hour a night. I can sit around and write, watch The Price is Right and Jeopardy in the same day. Not a lot people have a job where they can do that."
