March Free First Saturday: Foreign Flix
This weekend, families may want to skip the Saturday-morning cartoons and check out the far superior flicks to be screened at Free First Saturday: Foreign Flix. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. guests will be invited to watch a series of shorts exploring hidden worlds and different perspectives, including Elephants, a story about a girl who discovers new friends when she repaints her gray walls; Orange O Despair, where an orange on a fruit stand decides to hang out with some pineapples after putting on a crafty disguise; as well as flicks titled Zero and Tah Dah. At 3 p.m. the museum will screen Oblivion Island, a whimsical Japanese film about a girl who discovers a world of lost possessions while on a quest to find her mother's missing hand mirror. The kid-friendly event is rounded out with hands-on art activities, performances, and other fun happenings. (Pictured: Oblivion Island)
