Making Music: David Longstreth
According to the indie pop-orchestral-synth band Dirty Projectors' MySpace page, Dave Longstreth doesn't play an instrument or write the songs; he's the group's "musical director." That catchall title would probably be best interpreted to mean that he's the guy responsible for the band's lush, eerie, pop sounds that somehow have listeners tapping their toes while feeling haunted. Longstreth will be in the hot seat at the Walker's Maguire Theater, taking questions from James Everest of Vicious Vicious and Roma di Luna. Longstreth will also show off his skills through musical demonstrations and videos, and fans in the audience will have a chance to pick his brain. Stick around after the interview for a set by Radio K's DJ Paul Harding and a reception in the museum's Art Lab.
