Loring Park Art Festival
Its that time of year, when Minnesotans put on their best t-shirts and shorts and head to our premier outdoor art exhibitions. The Loring Art Festival rests in the shadow of the Walker Art Museum, across the Hennepin/Lyndale footbridge. Wander the Loring Park duck pond and check out what organizers tout is a more "compact" and "consistent" artistic affair. Do you smell competition? It's hard to be snooty, though, when hosting a chainsaw-art event. There will be theater and musical acts both days, tending toward new age and world music. When you head to Loring Art Fest consider pedaling one of Nice Ride Minnesotas fancy green bikes (theres a rental station at the edge of the park), or ride your own two-wheeler. Nice Rides will even valet park it in Uptown, no charge, if you want to skip over. Don't like to sweat? There's always the free Art Hop, Metro-Transit's air-conditioned bus line that runs between festivals.
