Looking for Normal
As though to prove that it's never too late for a nice, hearty surprise, in Jane Anderson's Looking for Normal, couple Roy and Irma have been hitched for 25 years and have carved out a thunderously ordinary life in small-town Ohio. Of course things are never perfect, so they visit their pastor for a little marriage counseling—at which Roy drops the bombshell that he is a woman in a man's body, and has felt this way for all of his life. As you can imagine, there's a good deal of drama to follow as family, friends, and (not least) Irma all deal with Roy's proclamation and its repercussions. This show is a co-production between ARTisphere Theatre and Torch Theater, and includes actors Taylor Bolstad, Garry Geiken, Fred Wagner, and Sally Ann Wright.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: Jan. 11. Continues through Feb. 3, 2008
