Folks who normally work behind the scenes at the Soap Factory will be front and center once again at this year's volunteer biennial. "KnownUnKnowns" features the work of 36 emerging, established, and new artists, all of whom have donated some of their time to keeping the always-busy Northeast gallery awesome. Exhibiting artists will be presenting work that explores the meaning of truth, and the human drive to understand reality and the world around us. On display will be a variety of pieces in a wide range of media, such as nature photography, mind-bending drawings, and striking installations. Some pieces will be interactive, including a memory-shredding machine and a simulation of life on another planet. You'll be able to see just what these volunteers have been up to in their free time at the opening reception from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, December 1. (Pictured: Work by Elizabeth Erin)
