Ke$ha first turned heads with a cameo on Flo Rida's chart-cresting "Right Round," but her own pop material at the time showed she still had a lot to learn. For 2010's Animal, her lack of inventiveness — aside from a few explosively sticky moments like "Hangover" — was made only more obvious when she said her influences included Arcade Fire and Fugazi. The production on last year's Warrior has a ton more color than that of Animal, and the ubiquitous "Die Young" reaches a new artistic plateau. Ke$ha's not the eccentric artiste Lady Gaga is, but she has a good time and is one of the best at directing us to do the same.
