Juicy Steak Moustache II

Although the gallery name is new, the space isn't. This weekend, the Kolman & Pryor Gallery, formerly the Anita Sue Kolman Gallery, welcomes Patrick Kemal Pryor to its team. The artist and curator plans to bring innovative and interactive events to the Northrup King Building space. "Juicy Steak Moustache II," the first show under its new moniker, promises to be an exciting group exhibition, and features work by four local talents. Installation/sculpture artist Danny Saathoff creates kinetic pieces with a mechanical eloquence that rivals any grandfather clock or analog wristwatch. David Beck's previous efforts have included a sound wave as a 3-D sculpture, and video work in which flower details on a plate bloom beautifully. Kyle Fokken merges antique toys to create new, modern items. Emily Bennett Beck's pop-culture portraits have elements of camp, but also capture emotions such as fear, exhaustion, and pain in fascinating ways. There will be a public reception from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 23. (Pictured: Emily Bennett Beck, Heart of a Cheerleader)
