Juicy Steak Moustache
So, what exactly does "Juicy Steak Moustache" mean? Who knows, but it seems to be a fitting title for a gallery show that revels in whimsy, playfulness, and spontaneity. Oddities to be explored include a moustache trophy by Atom Pechman, a church/tugboat "mash-up" sculpture by Kyle Fokken, and collages that feature colorful, detailed floating worlds by Kate Casanova. The opening party will be an interactive celebration, as Patrick Kemal Pryor is set to create choreographed elements between other guests and the artwork itself during the event. "The overall effect will be very whimsical," he says. "Like a mad dinner party on an endless loop where different actors perform different roles." Other participating artists include Betsy Ruth Byers, Josephine A. Geiger, Joan Malkerson, Dan Mather, Kelly Jean Ohl, and Karl Unnasch. The opening reception is from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, January 21. (Kate Casanova, Orange)
