JOY: A Holiday Cabaret
Interact Theater gets into the holiday spirit this weekend with the premiere of JOY: A Holiday Cabaret at the Lab Theater in Minneapolis's Warehouse District. The production features the talents of writer and performer Kevin Kling, Eriq Nelson, and the entire Interact Theater ensemble, and includes material from the past 15 years of programs. Interact's unique focus of presenting art by creators with disabilities produces singular theatrical works throughout the year, and the holiday program promises to continue the high quality. The evening will be directed by Tod Petersen, and includes a wide variety of music and dance including flamenco, ballroom, hip hop, and a massive tap finale. Musical selections include Doug Christie performing "Mr. Wonderful" to Mike Brindley and Matt Dahlstrom's tale of their recent Interact trip to Thailand and the Thai pop songs that they wrote on the trip.
