You're forgiven if you don't recognize Jon Dore from his many years in television, as much of that work was done in his native Canada. However, in the past few years Dore has been popping up on American television to rave reviews. A few months back, he did a riotous set with fellow comic Rory Scovel on The Conan O'Brien Show. As a gag, they decided to perform together, but not as a wacky duo—they both did their own sets simultaneously. It's something Dore has done previously with other comics, and Conan was eager to play along. The talk-show host explained to the audience that the two comics were double-booked, and that they would have to perform at the same time. The bit killed, though some people didn't quite get it at first. During an appearance on the Comedy and Everything Else podcast, hosted by Jimmy Dore (no relation), Jon explained that people came up to him afterward asking how Conan's people could have done such a thing, and wondering why he just didn't reschedule. No word yet on whether audiences in Minneapolis will get a double scoop of standup. 18+.
