Until this past January, Jim Jefferies was most famous for being the comic who was attacked onstage during a performance (to his credit, Jefferies came back out and finished the set). Now, just eight months later, he's got a hit television show on the FX network, has covered the late-night talk-show circuit, and packs theaters all over the country. This Saturday, the Australian-born comedian will make a stop in Minnesota when he comes to the State Theatre for one performance only. Fans of his TV show, Legit, will definitely appreciate his standup, as the majority of the show pulls from his onstage material. With jokes about sex, religion, and alcoholism, plus a true story about taking his friend with muscular dystrophy to a brothel, there is no subject too taboo for Jefferies to skewer. However, he manages to do it with so much wit and honesty that you can't help but be drawn in by his natural charm. The second season of his show is ready to tape, and Jeffries has a full lineup of standup dates scheduled in between, so this might be your only chance to see one of the fastest-rising stars in comedy in person instead of on the small screen.
