This time of year can be lonely for those who don't celebrate Christmas. You may want to go out for a beer to stave off the freezing weather, take in a movie to kill time, or just hang with friends on the weekend, but everyone is out of town, spending time with their families in the middle of nowhere. Grocery stores are empty, except for the occasional bleary-eyed employee, and nary a cheerful drunk can be found on the streets as they are all inside, drinking with family. Fear not, though. This Christmas Eve, those who don't celebrate the holidays, those who are tired of sitting on the couch with family, and those who just don't care what time of year it is can enjoy Jewish Community Action and Indie Jew's Jewbilee 2008. This year the party goes down at Grumpy's downtown. DJs and live musicians will be on hand to help you get your dancing groove on. There will also be a Hanukkah gift raffle and free Chinese food to snack on throughout the night. 21+. Free. 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. 1111 Washington Ave. S., Minneapolis; 612.340.9738.
Wed., Dec. 24, 9 p.m., 2008
