Jennifer Stano: Deconstructing Home
This weekend, Altered Esthetics continues its Solo Exhibition Program with Jennifer Stano's "Deconstructing Home." The new series seeks to nurture artists in collaboration with four community partners who will provide a satellite gallery space. "We are expanding fine arts into nontraditional spaces and exposing emerging artists to a new demographic who may not think to visit an art gallery," says program director Kate Johnson. The partnering businesses include Bicycle Theory, Sweeney Todd's, Spring Street Tavern, and Maude Salon, which will host Matthew Fitzke's show on May 14. Future artists include Greg Ganeles, Melanie Schumacher, Sharon Farrah, Katie Parr, Margaret Gamache, and Noelle McCleaf. "Deconstructing Home" features 14 colorful, geometric, abstract oil paintings on Masonite exploring memories of Stano's childhood home. This will be her first solo exhibition, though she has participated in group shows at SpotArt as well as other locations in the Twin Cities.
