Jamie Kilstein

"I had a manager sign me and then tell me I should talk about politics less," recalls comedian Jamie Kilstein. "I remember thinking 'Why did you sign me? Did you see anything I fucking did?'" What Kilstein does—and does very well—is passionate social and political criticism that never lapses into easy agree-with-me jokes designed to get applause, nor tips into angry, unfunny invective. Instead the 28-year-old standup has made an impressive career of finding humor on the razor's edge, contributing to The Onion, releasing the album Zombie Jesus (Stand Up! Records), and taking his live show across the globe. It's unabashedly thoughtful, left-leaning commentary dense with killer punchlines and delivered with gleeful zeal. "I'll have plenty of walk outs and almost fist fights, but the people who like it love it, and plenty of conservatives have dug it as well and emailed me later saying they reexamined a lot of their beliefs." 18+.
