James Sewell Ballet: Dance Macabre!
A man for all occasions, choreographer James Sewell makes dances out of everything from magic tricks to Garrison Keillor's Guy Noir scenarios. So his "Dance Macabre!," a riff on the great Gothic-meister Edgar Allen Poe and other creepy-crawly fare, should be a gasp and a half of fun for the whole Addams Family. The program includes a pas de deux from "Giselle," one of ballet's great ghostly heroines. Kid-friendly excerpts from that show fuel "An Autumn Scare," the Saturday-morning family fest, featuring 60 minutes of interactive fun that includes an onstage parade (kids are encouraged to come in costume) and a chance to meet the dancers. What better way to prepare them for the sugar high of Halloween?
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Oct. 26. Continues through Nov. 4, 2012
