James Sewell Ballet: Ballet Works Project
The James Sewell Ballet presents works by three company members and one guest choreographer in a concert that gives a glimpse of ballet's past, present, and future. Sally Rousse's version of the Russian modern classic "Petrouchka" includes a few aerial moments and other eccentric twists. Penelope Freeh's "Simple Folk" wrings dark humor from traditional folk songs arranged by Beethoven, while Nicolas Lincoln's athletic "Yearnings" mixes feed from an internet radio station and live percussion. And Morgan Thorson's "The New Now Place" focuses on the dynamics of life in its final stages.
