Insights 2014 Design Lecture: Henrik Nygren
Whether you've visited the "Danish Modern" exhibition at the Goldstein Museum of Design, or live in an apartment furnished by IKEA, it's not hard to see the impact that Scandinavian design has had on modern aesthetics. Swedish graphic designer Henrik Nygren has had a hand in some of that shift from excess to modernism. As art director of Stockholm New magazine, Nygren created a look in the '90s that is familiar to many today: bold layouts, strong yet minimal typography, clean and sparse details. He has brought this aesthetic to his work in book design, identity branding, exhibition layout, communication, and other projects. This Tuesday, as part of the Walker's Insights 2014 Design Lecture, the influential designer will be in town to talk about his decades-spanning career.
Tue., March 25, 7 p.m., 2014
