(in)sight Senior Fashion Show
For many of us, our final projects as seniors result in an all-nighter and a lengthy essay. For senior designers at the U of M's College of Design, it ends in a fashion show, which is much more glamorous. This Saturday marks the end of these students' academic careers and the beginning of (hopefully) their professional ones with a runway show highlighting each individual's cutting-edge sense of fashion. They draw their inspiration from many sources, and will demonstrate their eye for office wear, avant-garde, theater costuming, and sustainable clothing. The event typically draws big crowds; some years it has sold out completely. Tonight, this year's 14 graduating designers will surely be under the scrutiny of local retailers, designers, and other industry professionals. Expect drama, even if it is limited to the choice in fabric on the runway. For tickets visit fashionshow.design.umn.edu. (Photos by Sociotard)
