Illo Minn: Volume Three
In many cases, the work of an illustrator on a project is crucial. When used to its maximum effectiveness, artwork can tell a story in a book, supplement the words in a news article, or simply compel a person to pick something up and take a look. For the College of Visual Arts' latest show, "Illo Minn: Volume Three," the versatile and creative work of 25 Minnesota illustrators will be on display. Technique and style vary greatly between pros in the exhibition, and materials and tools used in artworks include Photoshop, paint, ink, collage, and colored pencil. During the opening reception, which is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 2, folks will be able to bid on Moleskines created by the artists in a silent auction benefiting the school's scholarship fund. Additionally, there will also be a panel talk at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 9. (Art by Andres Guzman)
