Steven Epp, long recognized as a local creative force with Theatre de la Jeune Lune, has continued his decades of strong work outside of that late company and has forged an especially strong bond with Ten Thousand Things. Here he crafts a new adaptation of Carlo Goldino's play about a quartet of scrappy families whose everyday life is interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious stranger during the heart of Carnival. City Pages Artist of the Year Michelle Hensley directs an all-star cast that includes Sarah Agnew, Christiana Clark, Thomasina Petrus, Nathan Keepers, and Randy Reyes. Hensley found the show, which includes six strong women's roles, a perfect fit for the company, which reaches out to nontraditional theater audiences with a tour of prisons and community centers before settling in for four weekends of public performances.
