if we could
Abigail Allan, Susan Brown, Kyle Johanson, Jehra Patrick, Ben Reed, and Joel Schwarz are artists with day jobs at Twin Cities arts institutions. For this new exhibition at Pete Driessen's TuckUnder Projects, guest curator Christina Chang (curator of engagement at the Minnesota Museum of American Art) asked them to let their imaginations run wild. If they could do anything in this alternative garage gallery, while making a statement about what art museums, galleries, and schools would be doing if they were in charge, what would it be? Maybe Brown, founder of the honey bonbon-making Mademoiselle Miel, will create a honey sculpture? How might Patrick explore arts institutions through painting and photography for this space? What kind of structure might Johanson create? You'll see. There will be an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, September 13. Unstructured hours are Wednesdays through Sundays, and by appointment. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to verify hours or to schedule an appointment, and visit www.tuckunder.org for more info.
