Sybil Kempson, the playwright who brought Elevator Repair Service's wonderfully lively Fondly, Collette Richland to the Walker Art Center last spring, is back this fall. This times she's at Red Eye Theater with a play featuring a made-up language spoken by pumpkin farmers in an imaginary medieval village. Ich, Kürbisgeist has got time-traveling, storytelling, and dancing, and promises to be weird, dark, and funny. If you missed Kempson's show at the Walker, she's definitely a voice worth checking out. The production kicks off Red Eye's 30th anniversary season, marking three decades of innovative, experimental work. Ich, Kürbisgeist is directed by Steve Busa, and features Andrea Leap, Rhonda Lund, Miriam Must, Ross Orenstein, and Skyler Nowinski. Lighting design is by the always delightful Heidi Eckwall.
