ICE T: An Art Show
Despite what the name might imply, this isn't an exhibition inspired by iced tea (or a certain rapper/actor). Rather, it is a dual art show featuring the works of "T," a.k.a. Todd Peterson, and DC Ice. Get it? Beyond the name mash-up, the artist combo should be a good one. Both lean toward portraiture, though their styles vary greatly. Peterson's subjects range from musicians in the moment of performance to beer drinkers enjoying their time at a bar. DC Ice's pieces tend to lead the eye into a dark fantasy realm, a world filled with glowing beasts, winged children, and birds on bikes. Both artists are promising refreshing summertime art. So perhaps there will be some iced tea after all. The opening reception is from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 1. There will also be a closing party on the veranda from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
