While some Minnesotans look forward to ogling the lovely ice sculptures during the Winter Carnival, others will be more enchanted by this frozen bar. Made entirely of ice, the 256-square foot insulated structure features an illuminated, fully stocked bar and a fire pit filled with broken black glass. You don't want to be around when this thing melts, as around 12,000 pounds of ice was used in its construction. If the glowing ice isn't enough to keep you occupied, wander the halls of the Burnet Gallery to view some truly unique art. The Chambers estimates that the bar will be open through spring, weather permitting, of course. The opening reception for the Ice Chamber features drink specials on Grey Goose cocktails, and runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, December 16. (Photo by Sarah Johnson)
