I Love You Tomorrow
We all know history tends to repeat itself, and who hasn't experienced that odd sense of déjà vu when events suddenly seem eerily familiar, as if they were experienced at some point before, perhaps in a dream or some Groundhog Day-type of loop? Paula Mann and Time Track Productions play upon the tricky continuum from past to present and ultimately to future in this latest work combining dance, video, and animation into an ambient performance environment. Think of it as three-dimensional memoir culled from the minds of many, filled with moments of wonder, apprehension, and a sincere hope that everything will turn out all right. Mann, together with media and sound collaborator Steve Paul and their company, will be taking the work to New York's Dance Theater Workshop later in July, so here's an opportunity to give them a hearty local send-off.
