If you've ever been to a gallery opening in Northeast, bobbed your head to a rock show in Uptown, or decided what to do on a Friday night by checking out a local blog, then you are a participant in the creative culture of Minneapolis. I AM MPLS! is here to thank you. An event featuring a collection of local fashion, music, art, and comedy, I AM MPLS! aims to bring the city together to celebrate the ever-evolving, collaborative creative community. The night kicks off on a high note with Acme comedians Andy Erikson and Amber Preston loosening up the crowd and getting them rowdy for music by the Red Pens and Estate. Somewhere in the middle of it all the event turns into a fashion show featuring local musicians, artists, chefs, writers, entrepreneurs—the people that make Minneapolis unique—strutting their stuff on the runway in clothes and accessories sourced from local boutiques and designers. Produced by Sarah Edwards and emceed by Chris Cloud of MPLS.TV, I AM MPLS! is bound to be the a wildly entertaining event that turns into an annual party.
