Hot Wax: A Musical History of 1968
When looking back at the popular albums of 1968, it's not hard to see that it was a big year for music, and one whose impact can still be seen today. Releases included the Jimi Hendrix Experience's Electric Ladyland, Johnny Cash's At Folsom Prison, and Simon & Garfunkel's iconic Graduate soundtrack, to only name a few. This Sunday, Bill Deville from the Current will be chatting up veteran musicians Joey Molland (Badfinger) and Stokley Williams (Mint Condition), and rock critic Jon Bream about the tunes that provided the soundtrack to 1968. In addition to live interviews, guests will be able to listen to jams from the era provided by Ron "Boogiemonster" Gerber (Crap From the Past), Chuck and Joel (Cosmic Slop), Jake Rudh, and Danny Sigelman. Members of First Communion Afterparty will perform a live set. Folks will also be able to vote for their favorites (and least favorites) from the year, participate in a vinyl-inspired craft project, and shop in the pop-up vintage boutique.
