Hot Hot Heat

If there ever was a band made for shrieking-loud, neon-clothed, Saturday-night drunks to strut to, Hot Hot Heat is it. Their sound is a grab bag of confident drums, gleeful guitar, and a lead singer so histrionic he sounds like a cat in heat trapped behind a screen door. The Canadian band, from Victoria, British Colombia, have spent the past couple of years capitalizing on their major-labor debut, Elevator (Warner Bros.), with extensive touring in Canada, the states, and Germany. Their latest, Happiness Ltd., continues in the familiar vein of indie rock, New Wave, and dance-punk that the band is known for. With Love in October and ZibraZibra. All ages.
