On their lithe and intelligent 2012 debut, NYC trio Hospitality set cleverly worded post-collegiate angst atop jangly '90s-redolent college-rock. Their follow-up, Trouble, ups the stakes by significantly broadening their sonic palette. Frontwoman Amber Papini's voice, formerly solely operating in wounded-detachment mode, shows newfound warmth on tracks like the Pretenders-reminiscent "It's Not Serious." The band confidently explores a wide spectrum of rock styles throughout, from the sinister, synth-led minor-key single "Rockets and Jets" to the guttural groove-oriented garage rock of "I Miss Your Bones." With Air Waves and Hunting Club. 18+.
