The rough-and-tumble shouts of Wendell Holmes, soaring falsetto of Popsy Dixon, and rich baritone of Sherman Holmes mashed and intertwined into spine-tingling harmonies, are a marvel of nature. They reflect the Bros' gospel and blues roots in Virginia, as well as Motown, Memphis, and the broad array of genres they absorbed over the years in countless bar bands. Their experiences have made them unusually adept at concocting delightfully twisted versions of essential Americana, embracing both church and juke joint, but also venturing far beyond. Typically, last year's State of Grace (Alligator) ranged from Hank Williams to Cheap Trick. They're equally capable of lurching Jamaica-ward or down to the bayous, but always with the fresh insight of those who understand the fine line between sensuality and spirituality. $30 at 7 p.m.; $22 at 9:30 p.m.
Mondays, Sundays, 7 & 9:30 p.m. Starts: March 9. Continues through March 10, 2008
