Holiday Movie Night
For many, watching Christmas flicks is a big part of getting into the holiday spirit. Whether that entails a kiddie movie, a broad comedy, or an action blockbuster, the Depot in Lowertown St. Paul has you covered. This Saturday, the former train station will be hosting five hours of yuletide masterpieces. The evening starts off at 4 p.m. with the family-friendly Home Alone, where a little boy (Macauley Culkin) defends his house from comically bumbling robbers after accidentally being left behind on a family vacation. At 7 p.m., National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation screens. The ensemble piece stars Chevy Chase as a man who tries to give his family the best Christmas ever. Unfortunately, that entails electrocution, out-of-control sled rides, and an angry squirrel in a Christmas tree. (Bonus: See young Julia Louis-Dreyfus play a yuppie!) Finally, the evening concludes at 9:30 p.m. with Die Hard, the most kick-ass holiday film ever, where Bruce Willis plays a detective who battles terrorists when they crash his wife's holiday office party. Snacks will be available throughout the evening. (Pictured: Christmas Vacation)
Saturdays, 4-11 p.m. Starts: Dec. 14. Continues through Dec. 21, 2013
