History Happy Hour: Brewing in Saint Paul
Thanks to new craft breweries popping up what seems like every other day, Minnesota's modern-day beer scene is flourishing. However, past eras in the state weren't too shabby, either. For this installment of History Happy Hour, a monthly 21-plus evening boasting drinks, talks, and activities at the Alexander Ramsay House, folks will learn a little bit more about our sudsy past. Summit Brewing founder Mark Stutrud will be on hand to discuss the history of beer in our state, how the industry has grown and changed over the years, what's happening in the current brewing world in St. Paul, and how Prohibition impacted the local beer business. Fans of breweriana, a.k.a. beer collectables and momentos, will invited to peruse Ramsey's personal collection of beer bottles from the city's oldest breweries, which will be on display for the evening. The event kicks off with a happy hour, of course, and admission includes two drink tickets and snacks. 21+.
