Now in its 30th year, Highland Fest returns this weekend with plenty of activities to be enjoyed under the sun. Over the next three days, folks will be able to check out local artwork at the juried art showcase; enjoy two stages of live music, including sets from the School of Rock house band, Viva Knieval, and H$B; and watch happenings filled with spectacle, such as the Wiener Dog Races and the Strong Man Competition. Kids can enjoy the petting zoo, K9 demonstrations, fair-style rides, and bounce houses. Grownups can appreciate the business and home improvement expos, and the beer and wine tasting hosted by Haskell's. Looking to take the bus to the event? Metro Transit will be offering free rides; download and print off your pass at www.highlandfest.com. (Image by Wisch Photography)
