Now in its sixth year, this underground music festival returns to
the Ritz Theater for three nights of music. Some years strictly
celebrate local musicians, other years welcome bands from out of state.
The latter is the case this time around. Spires That in the Sunset
Rise, an experimental folk duo from Madison, will be playing Thursday.
Other highlights include metal screamers Gay Witch Abortion on Friday,
and circuit-bending rockers Skoal Kodiak presenting their oddly
danceable tunes on Saturday. Occasional jazz artist Milo Fine will play
a drum set with Davu Seru. Flavor Crystals, Vampire Hands, and Michael
Yonkers are also scheduled to perform. For a complete list of
musicians, check out www.ritztheaterfoundation.org.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 6 p.m.-midnight. Starts: May 28. Continues through May 30, 2009
