Haunted Theater: Fallout

This year, the Loring Theater will bring real fears and terrors to life in its annual haunted house. Instead of ghouls and zombie attacks, expect radiation victims and the sounds of nuclear destruction. In Fallout, the clock will be turned back to 1962. The inspiration for this year's event came from an old fallout shelter sign found in the warren-like basement at the Loring. It turns out that the building, an evangelical hall at the time, was also a planned retreat in case of an attack. From there, Loring artistic director Steve Barberio and a cast of experienced performers—including Noah Bremer (of Live Action Set), Ryan Underbakke, Joanna Harmon, and Rachel Peitrie—craft an immersive, and hopefully very scary, experience that takes the audience through the event, using the backstage and basement to full effect. Patrons are encouraged to dress up (think Mad Men) for the scary, post-apocalyptic party.
