Folks who have been to the Soap Factory's Haunted Basement know that the gallery doesn't mess around when it comes to haunted houses. Those in attendance are not only required to wear proper footwear (no heels or flip flops) and be 18 or older, but they must also sign a waiver before entering the space's 125-year-old basement. Perhaps one of the more interesting draws to this spooky event is that each year artists are invited to help curate the tour, creating psychological, visceral, and disorienting scares. The experience is different each Halloween, but past adventures have includes spinning rooms, confusing mazes, and creepy recurring characters. If things get too intense, there's always a safe word. According to the gallery, over 300 people called it out over the past five years. Tickets sell out quickly, so be sure to get yours as early in advance as possible. 18+. (Photo by Charlie Ward)
