The musical Grey Gardens opened on Broadway in 2006, after a couple of earlier incarnations, and ended up grabbing 10 Tony nominations. Set in two time periods (1941 and 1973), this real-life story traces the intertwined lives of mother and daughter socialites Edith Bouvier Beale and "Little" Edie. The first half depicts the pair in their East Hampton prime, while the second takes place after their decline into eccentric reclusion, with their mansion decaying around them. This joint production between the Ordway and Park Square Theatre stars local favorites Wendy Lehr and Christina Baldwin, two performers abundantly capable of supplying the doses of glamour and decay the show requires.
Tuesdays-Sundays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: March 17. Continues through May 17, 2009
