Curt LeMieux channeled his inner high school student to create 34 presidential portraits on the pages of the 1961 Golden Home and High School Encyclopedia Series in “Golden Home Mishaps.” The work takes a hilarious, doodle-like approach that, in some cases, results in gorgeous coloration and abstract beauty. In “Herd Mentality,” Ruthann Godollei reflects on the three-ring circus that is our current presidential election using research she conducted at the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin. A poster for snake oil that “cures female climate science” is trenchant. Also on view are new pieces by Donovan Durham and Bonnie Thorne that possess an outsider artist’s charm. The two creatives are friends from Interact Center for Visual and Performing Arts. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, September 10, from 6 to 9 p.m.
