For the eighth installment of the annual Get Lucky Fundraiser, SooVac is letting the art do the talking. In past years the event has featured different gambling-related themes, but this time they're going modest on us and are simply offering up a new dimension to the art-sale extravaganza: a featured work of art that will be up for grabs via a $5 door raffle. The work of art in question will be a painting by local artist Jennifer Davis. Provided you can't coax the grand prize your way, there are still plenty more bragging rights to be bought on the silent auction, which includes an array of pieces by the likes of Serena Cole, Alex Kuno, Amy Rice, Sean Tubridy, and John Vogt. Of course, if such circumspection doesn't suit your style, you need not feel at a loss: SooVac also offers live music courtesy of DJ Double Trouble, catering by Red Stagg and Chow Girls, and refreshments from the Herkimer and 45th Parallel Spirits, all of which should keep things plenty social. With so much on tap, the odds for scoring big at Get Lucky are favorable.
